360 Play facility to open in Hertfordshire
360 Play, the family entertainment centre operator owned by DP Leisure, has confirmed that it is to open in a building formerly home to a Stevenage nightclub in Hertfordshire.

Scotland announces 2012-13 culture budget
Scottish culture and external affairs secretary Fiona Hyslop has confirmed that the country's national galleries and museums will have revenue funding maintained in 2012-13.

Announcing the department's budget for the period, Hyslop also announced a 2 per cent cut in Creative Scotland's core budget, the agency responsible for promoting arts and culture.

Eight arts groups to lead digital research
Arts Council England (ACE) has revealed that eight cultural organisations have been chosen to spearhead digital research and development projects over the coming 12 months.

The groups will net support from the £500,000 Digital Research and Development Fund for Arts and Culture, run by Nesta, ACE and the Arts and Humanities Research Council.

Upgrade planned for Afan Forest Park centre
Neath Port Talbot Council (NPTC) is planning to carry out a major overhaul of Afan Forest Park Visitor Centre in a bid to maximise the facility's potential and attract more tourists.

Southend Pier reopens following repair work
Southend-on-Sea Borough Council has confirmed that the Essex resort's landmark pier has reopened to the public, following the completion of "essential" repair work to the structure.
