Singapore's new maritime museum opens

'Russian Disneyland' planned for Moscow?
Tushino airfield, located in the north-western part of Moscow, Russia, has been described as a "suitable" site for a Disneyland-style theme park based on national folklore and tradition.
Moscow deputy mayor Lyudmila Shvetsova revealed hopes to create a Russian-themed park when speaking to Rossiiskaya Gazeta, a government-owned daily newspaper.

£1m funding for historic Scottish properties
Scottish culture and external affairs secretary Fiona Hyslop has provided more than £1m to help protect six historic properties through the Building Repair Grants scheme.
More than £430,000 will be used to stabilise and repair Ham Girnal in Caithness, which will see the 18th century grain store used as a cultural hub for the performing arts.

New £150,000 coaster for Wicksteed Park
Wicksteed Park, the tourist attraction located amid 147 acres (59.5-hectares) of parkland near Kettering, Northamptonshire, is to add the £150,000 Clown Coaster to its portfolio of rides.
Built by Pinfari and formerly located at Blackpool's Pleasure Beach, the ride comprises a single train with four cars and will see visitors arranged two across in two rows.

Family Friendly Museum Award opens
Kids in Museums has unveiled this year's Family Friendly Museum Award, which is being run in conjunction with the Sunday Telegraph newspaper.

A new voyage for maritime museum
Exhibition designer Real Studios has created an introductory gallery for the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich to coincide with the opening of the new Sammy Ofer wing.
The permanent Voyagers exhibition uses AV installations, text, objects and personal narrative to evoke the historic and contemporary relevance of the sea and maritime heritage.
