New home for Oxford Dance Forum

'Green' Tower Bridge makeover approved
London's Tower Bridge is to benefit from a 'green makeover' ahead of the 2012 Games, after planning permission and listed building consent for the scheme were approved.
The landmark's 25-year old lights will be replaced with an energy-efficient system, while the project will also allow for the temporary installation of the Olympic rings.

ACW publishes new draft equality strategy
The Arts Council of Wales (ACW) has released its new draft Strategic Equality Plan, which is designed to ensure equality in the arts and is now the subject of a consultation process.
Among the objectives of the document is an increase in the range of artistic work that ACW currently funds and to continue with Equality Impact Assessments on all of its policies.

National Gallery opens da Vinci exhibition
A new Leonardo da Vinci exhibition has opened today (9 November) at London's National Gallery, following a "unique collaboration" with the Louvre in Paris, France.
Leonardo da Vinci: Painter of the Court of Milan marks the first time that both versions of the painter's Virgin of the Rocks have been brought together in the same place.

HLF grant for North East sports project
A scheme celebrating and exploring the connections between Olympians and Paralympians from North East England has received £48,500 from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF).
Home and Away - North East Sport and Olympics will enable people from across the local community to examine 200 years of sport in the region ahead of the London 2012 Games.
The scheme is led by Tyne and Wear Archives and Museums', with volunteers

Genting launches New York City casino
Genting Malaysia has announced the opening of the new Resorts World Casino New York City (RWNY) at the Aqueduct Racetrack, which is the first casino to open in the US city.

Council outlines 'compelling' Dreamland case
Thanet District Council (TDC) has submitted its application for the compulsory purchase of Margate's Dreamland site as part of efforts to create a "new and viable" theme park.

Initial support for Warwickshire motor museum
The Warwickshire-based British Motor Industry Heritage Trust has secured initial support from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) towards a £2.5m development project.
Based at the Heritage Motor Centre in Gaydon, the trust is aiming to create a new facility to house its reserve collection of historic British cars and has now received a first round pass.

Chester Town Hall scheme moves forward

Scottish heritage sites to offer free entry
More than 40 heritage attractions across Scotland will offer free admission later this month as part of Historic Scotland's St Andrews 'Visit for Free' programme.
