360 Play centre opens in Hertfordshire

Meraas plans AED2.2bn Dubai theme park
United Arab Emirates (UAE)-based real estate firm Meraas has announced plans to develop a new AED2.2bn (£382m, EUR459m, US$599m) movie-based theme park.
Dubai Adventure Studios will be located at Meraas' master development near to the Arabian Ranches intersection and is to form the first stage in a three-phase scheme covering 8 million sq ft (743,224sq m) of land.

Council pledges £1m Broomhill Pool funding
Plans to restore and reopen Ipswich's historic Broomhill Pool, which closed in September 2002, have received a boost after councillors committed up to £1m towards the scheme.
Ipswich Borough Council's executive resolved to support an option that will see swimming facilities restored, changing facilities refurbished and a new 50-station gym added.

Stoke musuem bids to protect collections

£550,000 funding for Bletchley Park vision
Internet search engine Google has announced a £550,000 donation towards the first stage of a £15m project to transform Bletchley Park into a new heritage centre.

DCMS: Most adults 'to follow' 2012 Games
The findings of the Department of Culture, Media and Sport's (DCMS) annual survey of engagement has found that 85 per cent of English adults will follow the 2012 Games.
Taking Part has been compiled since 2005, with the latest figures covering October 2010 to September 2011. Results also show high levels of engagement in arts and heritage.

President opens Pretoria's Gallows Museum
A former cellblock and gallows at the Pretoria Central Correctional Centre has been opened as a new museum and memorial by South African president Jacob Zuma.
At least 4,000 prisoners, 134 of which were political prisoners, were executed at the gallows before the Constitutional Court approved the abolition of the death penalty in June 1996.

New trustees for National Football Museum
House of Lords deputy speaker Lord Faulkner of Worcester is among three new members to join the National Football Museum's board of trustees at its new Manchester home.
Manchester City Council's deputy chief executive of neighbourhood services, Vicky Rosin, and Professor Steve Broomhead of Liverpool Hope University are also new trustees.

New-look gallery for Antrim Castle Gardens
The new-look Oriel Gallery has become the first building to be completed as part of a multi-million pound restoration project at Antrim Castle Gardens, Northern Ireland.

US$10m gift for UC Davis art museum
The University of California, Davis (UCD) has been handed a US$10m (£6.4m, EUR7.7m) donation towards its plans for the development of a new art museum in Davis, US.
Due for completion in 2015, the facility is to be named after Napa Valley vintner Jan Shrem and arts patron Maria Manetti Farrow and will also offer a teaching and cultural resource.

£1.5m Lottery boost for Welsh festivals
Festivals across Wales will receive a share of more than £1.5m of National Lottery funding from the Arts Council of Wales (ACW) in a bid to showcase cultural and creative talent.
A number of events are in line to benefit, with the Hay Festival of Literature and the Arts in Hay-on-Wye and Hijinx Theatre's Unity festival netting a £100,000 grant each.

ACI unveils new policy to develop opera
