New puppet theatre and museum for Cumbria
An art gallery located near Hutton-in-the-Forest, Cumbria, has received £300,000 from Arts Council England towards the development of a new puppet theatre and museum.
The purpose-built facility at Upfront Gallery is believed the first of its kind in England, with flexible seating for up to 140 people and offer a young people's theatre company.
It is hoped that touring puppet theatre groups will visit the venue

Fourth Plinth's latest artwork to be unveiled
A large sculpture depicting a child on a rocking horse, which has been created by Elmgreen and Dragset, will be unveiled at Trafalgar Square's Fourth Plinth in London next month.

Pickles rejects GBP200m Project Pinewood plans
Plans for a £200m mixed-use development at Pinewood Studios, centred around a working and living community for the creative industries, have been rejected by the government.
Communities secretary Eric Pickles has refused planning permission for Project Pinewood, having already been turned down by South Buckinghamshire District Council in 2009.

Leeds casino license bidding process opens
Leeds City Council (LCC) has announced that organisations are now able apply for one of eight licences that have been made available in the UK to operate a "large" casino.
The council is one of a handful of local authorities across the country with powers to award such a license, which is for a property with a minimum area of 1,000sq m (10,764sq ft).

New CEO outlines Cedar Fair growth strategy
Matt Ouimet, the new chief executive officer of Cedar Fair Entertainment Company, has set out a new long-term growth strategy for the Ohio, US-based visitor attractions operator.
Ouimet was named president of the group last summer and has now succeeded former chief executive officer Dick Kinzel. The new growth strategy has been called FUNforward.

SeaWorld names new chief financial officer
SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment, the Florida, US-based operator of Busch Gardens and SeaWorld-branded attractions, has named James Heaney as its new chief financial officer.
Heaney joins the group with nearly 25 years of finance, analysis and operations experience, with roles including senior vice president and chief financial officer at Disney Cruise Lines.

Lottery boost for Hitchin museum scheme
Plans to create a new museum for North Hertfordshire at Hitchin Town Hall have received a "huge boost" after securing a first round pass from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF).
