Public funding for Welsh botanic gardens
The National Botanic Garden of Wales has secured an additional GBP150,000 worth of public funding after meeting performance targets set out by the Welsh Assembly Government.
Last year, the Assembly Government announced a three-year package comprising GBP550,000 of annual revenue funding between 2012 and 2014, plus the conditional GBP150,000 grant.

Kids In Museums award longlist revealed
Kids in Museums has announced that 20 attractions across the country are in the running to be recognised for being the UK's most accessible and welcoming to visitors of all ages.

VAGA director to go in restructuring move
Hilary Gresty, director of the Visual Arts and Galleries Association (VAGA), is to be made redundant as part of a restructuring process, following the loss of GBP100,000 funding.
Arts Council England is set to withdraw its grant-in-aid support from April, with the VAGA board unveiling a model that will also see administrator Alison Lawrence depart.

Forgan welcomes Smarter Loans initiative

Record numbers of UK visitors for Bhutan
Latest annual tourism figures for Bhutan have seen a "significant increase" in the number of UK residents visiting the Asian country over the last 12 months, compared with 2010.
More than 37,000 international visitors travelled to Bhutan in 2011, up 38 per cent from the 27,196 in 2010. Of those visitors, nearly 2,800 were from the UK - an increase of 1,023.

Theme park operators report revenue growth
Gaylord Entertainment Company has seen consolidated revenue increase for the last quarter of 2011 and for the full year, while Euro Disney has also seen revenues grow in Q1 2012.
The Tennessee, US-based operator of the Gaylord-branded hotels and resorts saw revenues grow by 26.3 per cent during Q4 2011 and by 23.7 per cent for the wider 12-month period.

GBP1m grant for Bomber Command Memorial
Tourism minister John Penrose has announced the government is to contribute GBP1m to help fund a new monument in London's Green Park commemorating Bomber Command.
