UK to be 'increasingly reliant' on tourism

Three transactions to 'strengthen' Caesars position
Caesars Entertainment Corporation (CEC) has announced three transactions that it believes will "strengthen" its position going forward as it eyes further growth in the coming years.

London mayor announces outdoor arts programme
London mayor Boris Johnson has unveiled details of the capital's largest ever outdoor arts programme later this year, which will include free cultural events in all 32 boroughs.

Welsh Government support for tourism facilities
Welsh Government business minister Edwina Hart has revealed that £1.5m is to be invested in new and existing tourism facilities in order to help improve visitors' experience.
The announcement coincides with Wales Tourism Week and includes £500,000 towards the upgrade of amenities at Ruthin Castle Hotel, a 60-bedroom property in Denbighshire.

Gateshead gallery to open Newcastle site
The iconic Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art in Gateshead has revealed it is to open a new branch in a former printing warehouse in neighbouring Newcastle-upon-Tyne on 6 April.

EUR1.6m arts centre opens in County Clare
Jimmy Deenihan, Ireland's minister for arts, heritage and the Gaeltacht, has unveiled a new EUR1.6m (£1.3m) cultural facility in Kilkee's redeveloped library building, County Clare.
Theatre and exhibition space accommodating 110 people are among the facilities after work was completed on the 8,299sq ft (771sq m) development funded by Clare County Council.

MGM Resorts 'expects' further growth in 2012
MGM Resorts International is anticipating further growth this year as a result of continued expansion into key global markets such as Asia, after reporting increased revenue in 2011.

MP criticises Big Ben admission charge plans
Robert Halfon, the Conservative MP for Harlow, has criticised a recent decision to introduce an admission charge of £15 per person attending a tour of London's Big Ben Clock Tower.
