US postal museum starts work on William H Gross Stamp Gallery

London 2012 Festival kicks off
The three-month London 2012 Festival - a nationwide programme of cultural events designed to celebrate the Olympic and Paralympic Games - will begin later today (21 June).
The series of events marks the culmination of the four-year Cultural Olympiad, which began in 2008 and has seen 18 million people take part in arts and cultural events throughout the UK.

TEA/AECOM report sees continued growth for international theme park admissions

The international theme park industry continued to grow in 2011, with total admissions to the world's top 25 theme parks increasing by 4 per cent on the previous year.
The figures come from the annual Global Attractions Attendance Report, published in partnership by the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) and economic analyst AECOM. In total, the world's leading parks attracted 196 million visits last year - a new record level.

£4.6m funding for temporary cultural venue in Derry-Londonderry
The Northern Ireland Executive is to invest £4.6m in a temporary cultural venue in Derry-Londonderry, which will host events as part of the UK City of Culture 2013 programme.
Vital Venue will host a number of major events throughout the year and will accommodate more than 2,000 people seated theatre-style or 4,000 standing.
The structure will be built on the Ebrington site to the rear of the city's Clock Tower.

Down Arts Centre officially reopens following £1.4m redevelopment
Down Arts Centre in Downpatrick, Northern Ireland, has celebrated its official reopening following the completion of a £1.4m refurbishment and extension.
