Norwich's Bridewell Museum reopens following £1.5m refurbishment
Norfolk Museums and Archaeology Service (NMAS) has announced the reopening of The Bridewell Museum in Norwich, following the completion of a £1.5m overhaul.

Ireland's Arts Council in bid to increase philanthropic donations
Ireland's Arts Council has announced details of a new high-level pilot initiative designed to help arts organisations increase income secured through philanthropic sources.

Louise Herron appointed chief executive of Sydney Opera House

Latest CSO figures show slight drop in Irish inbound visitor numbers
New data from Ireland's Central Statistics Office (CSO) has revealed a 1 per cent drop in inbound visitor numbers for the period between March and May 2012.
However, national tourism agency Tourism Ireland said the figures contained "a number of encouraging indicators" as visitor numbers from core mainland Europe markets increased compared with the same period in 2011.

£11.3m boost for 'shovel-ready' cultural heritage projects in Scotland
Scottish culture secretary Fiona Hyslop has announced additional investment worth £11.3m for a number of "shovel-ready" cultural heritage projects throughout the country.
