Irish 13th century castle opens after 4.3m euro revamp
Ireland's 13th century Athlone castle in West Meath, which has endured rival families, and sieges, has undergone a 4.3m euro renovation to become a leading tourist attraction. The castle, that was taken over by Free State troops from the British in 1922, has received a total refurbishment as well as a new visitor centre.
