Ripley to open Toronto aquarium this summer
Attractions operator Ripley Entertainment is set to open a CA$130m (£83.7m, US$126.8m, 98.5m euro) aquarium in Toronto, Canada this summer. When completed, Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada will home 15,000 inhabitants in its 12,500sq m (135,000sq ft) facility and is expected to have a projected annual economic impact of more than CA$35m (£22.5m) for the Toronto area. The traditional layout walk through aquarium will include a 96-metre long (315ft) walkway in its shark tank.

Regional art suffers as London gets 90 per cent of all donations

2013 Museum and Heritage award winners announced
Pringle Richards Sharratt Architects and GUM Design, have won the 2013 Museums and Heritage Award for Permanent Exhibition for their work on the William Morris Gallery in London. The gallery re-opened in August 2012 following major redevelopment after funding of over £3m from the Heritage Lottery Fund and the London Borough of Waltham Forest was granted. McGregor-Smith and Chowdhury appointed to DCMS board

Madame Tussauds Tokyo opens to the public
Merlin Entertainments has opened its 14th Madame Tussauds attraction in the Japanese capital Tokyo. The launch is part of the group's expansion in Asia and is the fourth Madame Tussauds in the region, following sites in Shanghai, Hong Kong and Bangkok. A further Madame Tussauds is scheduled to open in Wuhan, China, later this year. Oakwood reveals details of new £4m themed attraction
Oakwood Theme Park has unveiled the name of its new £4m family-themed attraction which is set to open later this month.
