‘Army’ of volunteers needed to survey heritage sites in UK
The annual ‘at-risk’ survey by English Heritage has found 7,500 listed buildings or sites deemed to be imperilled by neglect or decay – a decrease of 131 from the previous year. The heritage body also announced plans to recruit an ‘army’ of volunteers to help survey England’s 345,000 Grade II-listed buildings and prevent damage being done to buildings every year.
