Busch Gardens prepares to launch North America's tallest free-standing ride
Busch Gardens theme park officials say their new ride, Falcon’s Fury, is the tallest, free-standing drop tower in North America and the only one in the world to feature forward tilting seats. The ride, which began construction in June 2013, will open on 1 May as the centrepiece of Busch Gardens’ magical land Pantopia. Hadrian’s Wall Trust to dissolve after funding disappears
Hadrian’s Wall Trust – which oversees maintenance of the wall and adjoining visitor centre – is to close down within six months after finance for the project evaporated, leaving funding support for the World Heritage Site mired in uncertainty.

City of Berlin purchases land lease for forgotten Spreepark amusement site
An abandoned German theme park that has been derelict for 13 years could soon be rescued from disrepair after the city of Berlin purchased its land lease. The city has bought the 30 hectare site for a reported €2m ($2.75m £1.66m), although the purchase must yet be approved by Berlin's House of Representatives.

Sweden's Icehotel invites guests to design and build bespoke suites
Northern Sweden’s isolated Icehotel is inviting its guests to design and build their own ice suites, with successful suggestions being maintained for the designer's exclusive use throughout the season. Coventry Transport Museum to undergo £8.5m redevelopment
Work is to start at the beginning of April on the redevelopment of Coventry’s Transport Museum. Firechaser Express roller coaster Dollywood's newest attraction
The Firechaser Express roller coaster is the newest ride to open at Dollywood after its launch on 21 March at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, US. The coaster is a multi-launch coaster, which launches riders forward and backwards and was built by Germany-based Gerstlauer which previously manufactured Dollywood’s award-winning Mystery Mine Euro-fighting coaster. The forward launch speed is zero to 16mph in 1.1 seconds and the backward launch speed is zero to 20mph

Hopes dashed for Barry Island leisure redevelopment
Proposals to transform a Barry Island attraction into a multi-million pound mixed use development have been thrown out by the local council, just days before the annual Barry Island Pleasure Park fairground opens for Whitmore Bay’s summer season.
