Birket Engineering's Steve Birket set for TEA presidency
The Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) president Christine Kerr will be replaced by director of Birket Engineering Steve Birket when she steps down in November after serving a full term. BaAM Productions' Kerr will pass the baton to Birket, who has been a longstanding TEA member and is current treasurer. Board members voted unanimously at a 13 May meeting for Birket to take the helm. UK hotel industry shakes off recession to post record expansion, says study
The UK hotel industry defied the recession to record its largest ever expansion in the decade up to the end of 2013, with total investment for the period topping £13bn, according to a new report. The industry added 106,380 new rooms over the 10-year period, while shedding 40,000 to record a net gain of around 66,000 rooms. UNStudio chosen to design new theatre in West Kowloon Cultural District, Hong Kong
