Tate to open new arts library
The Tate is to establish a new library and archive centre, where previously unseen papers and sketches from leading arts figures are to be exhibited. A donation by the Kreitman Foundation of £2.2m will enable the gallery to fulfil its aim to increase public access to its research resources. NMGM suffers tragic loss
The National Museums and Galleries on Merseyside has paid tribute to its former director, Sir Richard Foster, who was found drowned on a Dorset beach last month. Northumbria launches Powerpass
For the fifth successive year, the Northumbria Tourist Board is launching its Powerpass scheme, which apart from providing cardholders with reduced price access to a variety of attractions, also generates income for local charities. Art Fund and British Museum reunite gems
