Appeal for Roald Dahl Museum
An appeal has been set up by Roald Dahl's widow, Felicity, in an attempt to raise funds for a museum in the author's name in Buckinghamshire. The centre will be named as the Roald Dahl Museum and Literary Centre and will house the complete Roald Dahl archive, including early manuscripts and letters. Art Fund 'disappointed' by proposed sale of Michelangelo
A drawing by Michelangelo, discovered last year in the library of Castle Howard in North Yorkshire, is expected to fetch up to £8m, when it is auctioned by Sotherby's in London on 11 July. The cost of insuring such a valuable work is thought to have been a strong influence on the decision to arrange to have the picture sold at public auction. Buoyant outlook for employment in leisure sector
Leisure companies are expected to expand their staff during this quarter, according to a new survey from Manpower. New features for Oakwood

Firepower gears up for launch
After a massive regeneration project, the Royal Arsenal site on the banks of the river Thames in London will open on 27 May, as Firepower - The Royal Artillery Experience. Tate becomes world's most popular museum
One year after it opened, the Tate Modern of Modern Art has become the most popular museum in the world, with visitor figures of 5.25 million. Foot and mouth impact revealed
Government tourism figures have revealed that the foot and mouth epidemic has deterred visitors in the last couple of months. The number of tourists from North America was down 16 per cent in March, compared with last year, with visits from Europe and the rest of the world down 9 and 7 per cent respectively. Bourne Leisure sells 12 caravan parks
Former managing director of Rank Leisure and Rank Entertainment, David Vaughan, is fronting a new company, which has just bought 12 caravan parks from Bourne Leisure in a £46m deal. Park Resorts is backed by Close Brothers Private Equity and aims to become a leading operator of caravan parks in prime UK holiday locations.
