Tourism Alliance launches A Five-Year Vision for Tourism
Measures to help tourism create 300,000 jobs over the next years are outlined in a report by the Tourism Alliance, A Five-Year Vision for Tourism. Tate Modern fails to find new boss
The Tate Modern museum has failed to find a new boss since its first director resigned 10 months ago, according to the Sunday Times. Lars Nittve, a Swede who joined in 1998, handed in his resignation last June, but there will be no announcement of his successor until June this year. Austrian natural history museum to open by end of 2002
Inaura, the natural history museum being developed for the Vorarlberg area of Austria, is expected to open by the end of the year. Historic pavilion restoration
The De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill-on-Sea is to get a £7m facelift after being promised grants of £6m from the Arts Council and the Heritage Lottery Fund. New £6.5m cultural centre for Woking

Grévin et Compagnie expands with first German site

English Heritage offers free admission
Hundreds of properties will offer free admission between 13-16 September as part of Heritage Open Days 2002, a national event co-ordinated by the Civic Trust and sponsored by English Heritage.
