Euro Amusement Show 2003 expands

Museums study beauty

Natural History Museum opens its vaults
London's Natural History Museum has opened its £35m Darwin Centre, putting its 22m zoology specimens - the Spirit Collection - and research building on public view for the first time.

New look for Asian Civilisation Museum
The Asian Civilisation Museum (ACM) in Singapore has moved to new premises and will deliver a larger more diverse collection when it reopens in February 2003.

Snowdonia's indoor snow dome deemed feasible
Accountants Price WaterhouseCoopers (PWC) has completed the first stage of its feasibility study of the £165m indoor ski dome proposed for Snowdonia.

Stage is set for £5.8m arts centre

Tower Bridge is set to be the star attraction at a theme park in Austria. It is to be re-created as a 1:25 model for Minimundus theme world in Klagenfurt.

Model makers, led by Johann Markun, have begun studying the Tower's 114-year-old blueprints.

New plans bring £7m to Hadrian's Wall
Hadrian's Wall is to receive more than £7m over the next six years to create world-class visitor facilities. The news came at the launch of a revised Management Plan for the World Heritage Site, which runs from 2002 to 2007.

Mayor launches blueprint for London's tourism
The mayor of London, Ken Livingstone, has announced a three-year plan to 'bring new leadership, more investment and a new structure to London's tourism industry.'

Livingstone said the tourism industry had suffered for too long from a lack of strategic direction: 'The tourism industry is of immense value to the London economy, and I intend this new plan, 'Visit London', to maximise those benefits for the capital.'
