Mine of information in coal-mining museum library
A new library is the latest building at the Caphouse site of the National Coal Mining Museum for England to be unveiled as part of its £6.5m redevelopment project completed this year. UK's tourist attractions fail to reach out to deaf people
Lord Puttnam is backing an RNID campaign for improved access to arts and culture for the deaf and hard of hearing. Bond is back
This month has seen the opening of Bond, James Bond, a £2m exhibition dedicated to 40 years of the big screen's most famous spy. The 1,600sq m exhibition was designed by Studio K and is curated by the National Museum of Photography, Film & Television in Bradford, where it was first launched in April. Vintage Inns uncorks conservation initiative at Eden Project
Vintage Inns have unveiled the results of a brand-wide project to collect used wine works after joining an RSPB initiative. The Six Continents Retail brand joined with the RSPB to raise awareness of the decline of the Portuguese cork orchards and the subsequent effect on indigenous bird populations - specifically eagles. Bali asks for help to rebuild tourism
Indonesia's minister of culture and tourism, Gede Ardika, is calling for foreign nations to help revive Bali's tourism industry following the bomb attacks which killed close to 200 people. Saatchi gallery for South Bank

Imperial War Museum Duxford scoops award
Imperial War Museum Duxford has been named Visitor Attraction of the Year for the East of England in the 2002 Excellence in England tourism awards. The award was presented by comedienne and broadcaster Sandi Toksvig at the East of England Tourist Board's Annual General Meeting this month. London plays host to prehistoric resident
The Museum of London was home this month to the first Iron Age man to live in the capital for over 2,000 years. Veratrix, otherwise known as David Freeman, lived for a week in an Iron Age roundhouse at the museum.
