Lure of The Deep
The prospect of coming fact to face with sharks, has helped Hull's The Deep, to exceed all expectations for visitor numbers. Figures released at the end of last year show more than 500,000 visitors came in its first five months of opening - compared with a prediction that it would attract 200,000 in its entire first year. Derry gets £1.45m HLF grant
The Tower Museum in Derry has received £1.45m from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) to re-open in 2004 as a museum almost entirely dedicated to the history of one of the largest ships in Spanish Armada, which sank off the coast of Ireland in 1588. Quirky poster campaign for English Riviera
The English Riviera Tourist Board has launched its annual poster campaign across London. Crealy Park's Angela Wright scoops new accolade
A founding member of one of the most popular tourist attractions in Devon, UK, has been recognised in the Queen's New Year Honours List. Angela Wright of Crealy Adventure Park was awarded an MBE. IAAPA acquires Asian Amusement Expo
The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA), the trade body of amusement facilities worldwide, has taken ownership of the Asian Amusement Expo after acquiring the interests of Terrapinn and the American Amusement Machine Association (AMMA).
