Evergrande Group firms up shift to attractions sector with more fairytale theme parks in China
POSTED 15 Nov 2017 . BY Alice Davis
IdeAttack's Brilliant China zone concept for Evergrande's Fairytale Theme Park
Chinese real-estate investment group Evergrande has announced it is working on a Fairytale Theme Park in Xixian New District, Shaanxi province.

The news comes hot on the heels of a partnership between Evergrande and entertainment design firm IdeAttack.

IdeAttack has masterplanned and conceptualised a series of fairytale-themed destination resorts for the developer. The deal comprises the development of a new theme park brand, Evergrande Fairytale Theme Park, and the construction of up to six parks located at different locations in China.

A Fairytale Theme Park is already underway Changsha, Hunan province. The plans feature more than 30 cutting-edge attractions, including immersive multimedia rides and theatres, across six specially themed zones: Splendid China, Magical Europe, Mysterious Kingdom, Adventure South America, Surfing Sea and Space Travel. There will also be hospitality, retail and commerce elements.

“The project is based on historic culture and will highlight Chinese cultural elements,” Yang Zhanwen, director of Xixian’s Qinhan New City, told China Daily.

The Fairytale Theme Park brand is being billed as a gamechanger by those involved – raising the bar for domestic theme parks by bringing a quality experience to more cities and emphasising Chinese culture, themes, stories and legends.

Evergrande has previously said it plans to open 15 Children’s World theme park projects in China as it continues to invest heavily in the domestic attractions market.
